PAX Unplugged & Shipping Update

Hi Open Legend Fam,

I've got two important updates today and both of them are sad. 

Seventh Sphere Booth at PAX Unplugged

We had signed up for a booth at PAX Unplugged under the assumption that the physical books for Open Legend Core and Amaurea's Dawn would be available for sale at the booth. Sadly, there have been delays with the printing and those printed books are not yet available. As such, that means we don't really have anything we could sell to justify the time and expense of running the booth. As such, myself and Ryan Schapals will be milling about the convention a bit, but you won't find a Seventh Sphere booth at PAX Unplugged. Very sorry to disappoint everyone who hoped to see us there! We're super disappointed about the delays with the printer, let me dive into that a bit more.

Side note: the GM Improv Showdown Panel will still proceed as scheduled on Sunday Nov. 19 at 3pm EST. You can catch it LIVE on Twitch at http://twitch.tv/twitch.

Physical Books Delivery is Delayed

The current update I have from the printer is that there were multiple delays at the factory in Taiwan and the books are anticipated to set sail from Taiwan (bound for the US) on December 4th. Please note this is NOT the date you will receive the book(s) in the mail. They still have to make the long journey by boat across the Pacific and then upon arrival at the US fulfillment center, be shipped out to you the backer. 

So, in theory, there is some chance they will arrive in time for the Christmas holiday, but even that seems at some level as if it cannot be guaranteed. 

As soon as I have another update, I'll let you know.

A quick update for you all.

If you are receiving physical rewards (i.e. the hard-copies of either the Open Legend RPG or Amaurea's Dawn books) please log into BackerKit and ensure that your address is correct.

Hail Open Legion!

If you haven't seen on social media, we shipped the Open Legend Core Rule Book off to the printer to start the presses rolling late last night. Huge milestone, hopefully you're celebrating with us! <3 

We plan to submit Amaurea's Dawn to the printer this week as well. So, those who are interested in pitching in with proofreading, just wanted you to know you've only got  a few more days to do that before we're closed for proofreading error submissions.

BUT WHEN DO I GET MY BOOKS?!?!
Good question. I'm finally ready to answer that. I've been unsure how long it would be for me to finish my part of the work after having a pseudo breakdown and didn't feel comfortable making any promises. At this point, we're in a better position with both PDFs through multiple rounds of proofreading, etc. 

So.... *drumroll please* ... the rest of the print process is actually out of my hands, so I can't do anything to speed this up, but we are currently looking at a mid-November date for the book to make it from the printing presses to your doorstep. You should receive GM screens, bane & boon decks, and posters at that time as well. 

Let me reiterate again, however, that the printing timeline is out of my hands, it's entirely on the printer, and they have warned me that they are extremely swamped right now. I will let you know as soon as I do if that date moves again due to the production timeline on the printing side of things.

Also, it has been my goal to have them available at PAX Unplugged. Looks like that's going to happen and we'll have books available for sale (for your heretical friends who didn't back the Kickstarter) and we will also send out a form where you can request that we hold your book for pickup at PAX Unplugged. Then anyone who didn't order a signed copy can get one signed (not promising for Matt Mercer, but definitely Ryan and myself).

If you didn't know we're going to be there, now you do! We'll even have our own booth which we will tag team with the Nerdarchy guys (https://www.youtube.com/nerdarchy). You'll be able to join one of the Open Legend games we'll be running at our booth (spaces will be VERY limited so look out for registration details to follow!).

GM Improv Showdown: PAX Unplugged 2017 will feature Matthew Mercer, Satine Phoenix, Adam Koebel, Zac Eubank, Brian Feister, and other equally awesome TBA panelist or two! Hyper RPG is going to run production and we're hoping to get some support from the Twitch mothership as well.

Can we get a shout out from the #thumpers who are excited to see the Overlord and the Great Mercer on the same stage?!

How to Access PDF Downloads of Core Rules & Amaurea's Dawn

Hey Everyone,

I've received many emails from folks who can't figure out how to download the PDFs that were released yesterday. 

If you know your BackerKit login, you can go head to download the PDFs that have been released:

If you don't know your BackerKit login, I can't promise to respond to EVERY email right away, but hopefully the BackerKit team can pick up and start helping with support on Tuesday when they return from the holiday.

Thanks for your patience with me as we had discussed before how life kind of went off the rails for me a few months back. 

Good news is, we're very close to shipping to the printer, can you help get us there?

At long last each and every backer (who is set to receive Amaurea's Dawn) has a shiny new download waiting for them on BackerKit. Check your inbox for an email from BackerKit, you will be receiving via an email from them (if you never figured out Backerkit, then now is the time to do so, as that will be the distribution point for all PDFs) and other non-physical rewards.

PLEASE, PLEASE spend a few minutes proofreading if you're so inclined, I've set up a place for submitting any errors you find, so that we can hopefully catch them before the file gets locked and sent to the printer in a week or two! 
Note about Amaurea's Dawn -- page 28 will have a surprise illustration, it's blank on purpose for now, you can look forward to that as a surprise for the next release of Amaurea's Dawn Alpha 02!

It's been a long night, started working double-time to finish this at 7pm and it's now 7am :) ... just in case anyone thought I was slacking!

This release also fixes the selectable text problem from the Core Rules release (and I'm also about to ship off "Alpha 02" for NEW SHINY selectable text and also last minute proofreading. We're going to be shipping to the printer very soon now.
